Thank You for Joining the Pupil Power Assembly 2025!
Wow – what an incredible day!
Our 6th annual Pupil Power Assembly was bigger and better than ever, with a record number of you signing up to learn how to protect our precious waters.
Over 250 schools took part, with roughly 30,000 pupils across the UK coming together to take action for our oceans!
Our two tailored assemblies – one for Primary and one for Secondary school – focused on exploring art as a tool for activism.
Together with inspiring artists, scientists, and campaigners, pupils created powerful artwork spreading one clear message – Protect our oceans from plastic pollution!
We can’t wait to see what you create in your Voice for the Ocean art lessons.
🌟 Highlights & Engagement 🦞
This year’s assemblies were designed to be engaging, informative and offering plenty of participation and activity – we thought Lara the Lobster’s pop-ups were especially impressive!
Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and determination to find out how to protect our wild waters was bursting through our screens.
Here are just a few of our favourite pupil questions:
- If someone my age wanted to start a local plastic clean-up or research project, what’s the first step?
- What percentage of the ocean is plastic?
- How can I get involved with Surfers Against Sewage?
And some of your wonderful feedback:
- “It was brilliant! We really enjoyed it and got lots of ideas from it.”
- “Thank you for an amazing assembly!”
- “You are soooooooo goooooood!”
We’re thrilled that so many of you left inspired and full of ideas to make a difference.
🎨 Looking Ahead
After your art lesson, send us your top five pieces and upload them here with your school name, pupil name, and age.
Selected pieces will form part of a wider campaign with Surfers Against Sewage, calling for action on plastic pollution.
We know the next wave of ocean activists has the power to make a real difference!
By combining creativity with purpose, you’re helping protect our waters — from the tiniest trickling streams to the vast open oceans.
We hope the ideas and inspiration shared during the assembly will fuel your journey to keep learning, creating, and taking action for our wild waters
